Culture and range of disciplines

The Leibniz4U Student Research Centre (SFZ Leibniz4U) accompanies pupils on their journey through the exciting world of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Our goal is to encourage pupils to conduct their own research by supporting their networking with each other and with scientists working in STEM fields. Our mission statement encompasses the following principles:

  1. With a tiered concept, we encourage pupils to do their own research and support them in discovering their interests and strengths.
  2. We recognize achievements and promote goal orientation in the STEM subjects. Targeted mentoring and recognition of their achievements enabled pupils to fully exploit their potential.
  3. We promote exchange and cooperation between pupils and scientists. Learning together and the support of like-minded people create an inspiring learning environment.

The Leibniz4U SFZ covers the broad spectrum of STEM subjects. With the support of the faculties, including clusters of excellence and collaborative research centres, we can offer a breadth of subjects that goes beyond the traditional school subjects, such as meteorology and geoinformatics. This not only gives school pupils an insight into fascinating topics outside the curriculum, but also gives them the opportunity to contribute their own ideas and questions from a wide range of subjects.
